Associate, Assessment (Bangalore based)

CENTA assesses and certifies the competencies of teachers through both multiple choice and practical (tech-enabled) assessments. The rigour, quality and depth of these assessments play a very important role towards CENTA’s overall mission of creating rewarding career paths for great teachers. We are looking to add 3 Associates to our Assessment team, with specific focus on: (1) English language and communication, (2) Hindi language and Hindi medium, (3) Social Sciences.

Persons with significant experience could be considered for a Senior Associate or domain Lead role. The Associate role offers great growth opportunities towards leadership in assessment and also to work in training or other areas over time.

Roles:

  • Create and refine assessments for teachers: multiple choice questions, open-ended questions, practical assessments, rubrics.
  • Continuously build a pool of external subject matter experts and work with them to create and review assessment instruments.
  • Deliver assessments by supporting the operations team where needed.
  • Maintain and update relevant question banks.
  • Data analytics on various aspects to continuously improve CENTA’s assessments (plus an opportunity to learn the science of assessments).

Skills/Experience needed:

  • Deep understanding of and interest in subject concepts in the specific domain.
  • Understanding of general and subject-specific pedagogy is not necessary but a plus. Interest in learning about pedagogy is a must-have.
  • Strong analytical and qualitative reasoning skills; good data-handling skills and comfort with MS Excel / Google Sheets.
  • Drive, perseverance, rigour and attention to detail.
  • 2-3 years of experience in assessment design / teaching / teacher development is a plus, but freshers will also be strongly considered based on skills. Applicants with greater experience and relevant skills could be considered for Senior Associate / domain Lead roles.
  • CENTA-Certified teachers (including CENTA TPO winners) will have a significant advantage.


Associate, Learning Products (Bangalore based)

Through its MyCENTA platform, CENTA provides a range of learning products for teachers – modular resources, short live courses, long live courses, products of other entities or individuals accredited by CENTA® as a certification body, etc. The Learning Products team in CENTA manages this entire exciting portfolio. We are looking to add 1-2 Associates to the Learning Products team.

Persons with significant experience could be considered for a Senior Associate or Lead role. The Associate role offers great growth opportunities towards handling a specific portfolio of products or programmes, or to work in other areas like assessment over time, based on one’s interest and skills.

Roles:

  • Design and develop teacher training products that are largely online and self-serve.
  • Review, curate and accredit a range of learning resources that are relevant for teachers; coordinate with individuals and entities with respect to these resources and programmes.
  • Run teacher development programs/workshops/webinars by CENTA or in partnership with other organizations, including working with/under the guidance of expert faculty.
  • Stay in touch with teachers regularly for market feedback on what is most relevant, useful, etc. and therefore developing the learning side of MyCENTA.
  • Data analytics on various aspects including teacher engagement, feedback, performance, etc., towards continuously improving CENTA’s learning offerings.

Skills/Experience needed:

  • At least 2 years of experience in content development / training / teacher development is preferred; teaching experience will be a plus but not necessary. Freshers will also be considered based on skills.
  • Understanding of general and subject-specific pedagogy is a plus, though not necessary.
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills in English (ability to operate in one more language, e.g. Hindi, will be a plus).
  • Drive, perseverance, rigour and attention to detail; organized, with strong process management to multi-task and take things to closure; ability to use basic technology tools
  • CENTA-Certified teachers (including CENTA TPO winners) will have a significant advantage.


Subject Matter Experts in a range of Domains (online, part-time)

CENTA works in a range of subjects (Language, Maths, Science, Social Studies, Commerce subjects, etc.) right from pre-primary to senior secondary and even higher education, across several language mediums (most immediate requirements in English, Hindi and Tamil mediums). We are constantly adding to the pool of Subject Matter Experts who largely work online and part-time.

Roles:

  • Supporting creation of content, training and assessment in the subject.
  • Reviewing specific content in the subject (including written content and videos).
  • Evaluating submissions of teachers applying for certification, for subject-related aspects.

Individuals with teaching background may have an advantage; however, we are open to individuals with deep understanding of the subject (including students of higher education), who are not in teaching.
